Marula Exfoliator is
back! Lovers of our marula
exfoliator (and we know
there are lots of you)
will be pleased to learn
that Swazi Secrets
marula exfoliator will
be available again in
late April. We are sorry that this
has taken a while, but
this is a product that
has to use a
preservative and it has
proven to be a long hard
search to find an oil
based preservative that
did not contain parabens.
We have managed it and then
extensively tested it to
make sure we have it
right.

Impact Study
Published
In 2010, two
researchers from Beloit
College, USA, visited
SIP to investigate how
involvement with SIP
affects the rural
women's lives: how
kernel income impacts on
family nutrition and
welfare, health
especially vis a vis
HIV/AIDS, and the women's
sense of empowerment.
Their findings confirm
that SIP is living up to
its mission and motivate
us to continue working
hard to achieve even
more impact. You can download the

2011 Price Review
We never like the letter each year advising of a price increase,
because we know your costs are rising too, but we can at least tell
you that we have kept 2011 price increases below the rate of
inflation. Price rises this year
have been kept in the
region of 3-4%, although
many of the increases
from our suppliers have
been well in excess of
that. Although increases
were implemented as
usual on 1 April 2011,
we have held the
increases back until 1
May for export
customers.
Distributors – Focus
on Sweden
Welcome to the first of
what is planned to be a
regular newsletter
feature. Our
distributors are an
integral part of the Swazi
Secrets team, and we are happy to share their experiences more
widely. Where better to start than with our first overseas distributor.
The story starts when a Swedish couple, Mary and Arne Nordfors,
turned up at our factory back in 2005. Already running a natural
products business, they had read about marula in their in-flight
magazine and had come to investigate. Mary was soon actively selling Swazi Secrets back home with a
vigor that came not only from loving the products but also from
being inspired by SIP's work with rural Swazi women.
A couple of years back, Mary contracted cancer – she bravely
fought her way through it, but decided to take a back seat. At this
point, her son and daughter-in-law, Ulrik and Elizabeth Nordfors,
actively took over the distributorship, and Swedish
Swazi Secrets sales are now booming again.
Asked to comment on
their success with Swazi
Secrets. Elizabeth
remarked, "I
worked with Mary earlier
in her business, so I
was already very
dedicated to the
products and SIP’s
working concept, which
gave me a flying start.
Marula is now becoming
known for its great
properties, the products
being natural and
organic, women given a
way to support
themselves and their
families - those are
things that I regard as
most important."
